MH Whisky School Offers the Certificate in Scotch Whisky to US Bartenders

Exciting news for Scotch whisky enthusiasts and particularly bartenders in the United States! We have partnered with Moët Hennessy, working with the Glenmorangie and Ardbeg teams to launch MH Whisky School, a bespoke online learning platform which is home to a special version of our Level 1 Certificate in Scotch Whisky course. Now, in collaboration with PDXCW and Lush Life Productions, US bartenders are being offered the chance to earn the esteemed EWA qualification completely free of charge.

Live Scotch Whisky Education Event

Further details were shared in a live-streamed whisky education session on Monday 2nd December via PDXCW’s Facebook and YouTube Live. Industry icon Dr Bill Lumsden (Director of Distilling & Whisky Creation, The Glenmorangie Company), joined David Blackmore (Global Brand Ambassador & Team Lead, Ardbeg and Glenmorangie) and Dan Crowell (Glenmorangie Ambassador – US) for a fascinating exploration of Scotch whisky history, regional diversity, production techniques and the artistry of blending.

Combining Brand Training with Recognised Certification

MH Whisky School is a smooth blend of engaging brand-specific training with the credibility of a Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA)-Approved qualification. David Blackmore, Moët Hennessy ‘s Global Brand Ambassador for Ardbeg & Glenmorangie, shared his excitement:

"Working with EWA to create the MH Whisky School has been seamless. Their expertise ensured the bespoke Certificate in Scotch Whisky course was tailored to our needs, making the process straightforward and enjoyable. This program beautifully combines brand storytelling with recognised whisky certification, and we’re thrilled to see it launch."

An initial cohort of 500 Moët Hennessy contacts are already progressing through the program, and we’re excited to see how this next phase of growth unfolds.

Industry Partnerships Promoting Educational Excellence

This latest collaboration builds on EWA and Moët Hennessy’s previously successful partnerships with PDXCW and Lush Life Productions. In 2021 and 2022, a total of 157 bartenders earned EWA’s Level 2 Diploma in Single Malt Whisky through a five-week program that saw EWA Lecturer Vic Cameron’s taught content enhanced with interactive experiences from the Ardbeg team. Now, the MH Whisky School brings that same commitment to excellence to the Certificate level course, making it even more accessible to a wider group of participants.

Kirsty McKerrow, EWA Founder and Managing Director said:

"We’re thrilled to partner with industry leaders Glenmorangie and Ardbeg on this groundbreaking project. A special thanks to David Blackmore for recognising the value of our courses and choosing EWA as the ideal collaborator. This partnership perfectly aligns with our mission to make high-quality Scotch whisky education accessible to all, with flexible materials that integrate seamlessly into broader brand training for maximum impact."
