EWA Approved Course Providers 2024 Highlights
From record-breaking course sizes to exciting milestones and new collaborations, it has been a remarkable year for our global network of EWA Approved Course Providers!
Here’s a list of 5 things to celebrate from 2024:
1. EWA Courses Delivered in 15 Countries
16 of our Approved Course Providers taught courses this year in an impressive 15 different countries. Candidates have been certified from Argentina, Australia, Canada, France, Hong Kong, India, Puerto Rico, Scotland, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, Taiwan, Turkey, United Arab Emirates and the United States!
2. 370+ Certificate Candidates Taught
There were some big class sizes this year! Bharat Rathore (Barrels & Beyond) hosted the Certificate in Scotch Whisky to a class of 21, while Howard Yu (Spirits & Wisdom) broke the record on class size with 22 candidates for a Certificate in Gin course.
3. Multi-lingual Diploma Milestones
For the first time, our flagship Diploma in Single Malt Whisky was taught by partners Joe Cabassa (Academia de Whisky), Yiğit Akdemir (Uzkeba) and Micky Chan & Louis Lee (Hong Kong Wine Academy), marking its debut in languages other than English. We’re excited to see Samantha De Noia (9 Smoking Barrels) host her first Diploma course in Spain next year, as Joe travels there to teach.
4. Advanced Diploma Pilot
In October, we launched the 5-day Advanced Diploma course in Speyside. The week was packed with intense learning, great company and, all in all, was a whole lot of fun. Thanks to attendees Yiğit Akdemir, Samer Abi Farah, Scott Thompson, Jennifer Thompson, Dan Kujawski, Micky Chan, Joe Cabassa & Bharat Rathore — 2025 dates coming soon!
5. Texas Teaching Trip
We also travelled to Texas in February where Vic Cameron taught two back-to-back Diploma courses at Daniel Whittington’s Wizard Academy. The Campus, Tower and Whiskey Vault are truly special, and we all had a ball. Plus, those guys really know how to throw a graduation ceremony!
Thank you all for making 2024 a successful and enjoyable year. Here’s to an even better 2025!
