Agit Avcı, 23, studied the Certificate in Scotch Whisky and Certificate in Gin with Uzkeba, our Approved Course Provider in Turkey. 

Tell us a bit about yourself.

I work in the food and beverage industry and am extremely passionate about my job. I took the EWA courses with Yiğit Akdemir at Uzkeba to improve my knowledge and develop further within the sector.  I believe that I have added a lot to myself as a result of the qualifications.

How did you first discover whisky?

I had a passion for whisky. It all started with that passion and, most importantly, the job also requires dedication and discipline.

Which part(s) of the EWA course(s) did you find most enjoyable?

The Maturation module in the Certificate in Scotch Whisky was very enjoyable for me. I was impressed by the material in that part and it was fun.

What made the EWA course(s) different from any previous whisky training you have completed?

I would definitely recommend Edinburgh Whisky Academy training to industry professionals who are seeking great detail and in-depth educational content.

How has the EWA course(s) helped progress your career/contributed to your professional life?

The courses have played a big role in progressing my career and I will continue training in a professional way.

I like to drink wine other than whisky.

Definitely The Macallan, accompanying a beef wellington.
