GlenDronach
GlenDronach Distillery, located near the town of Huntly in the Highlands, is best known for its rich and sherry-influenced whiskies.
Founded in 1826 by James Allardes, a farmer and entrepreneur, the distillery has a long and storied history, having survived periods of closure and changes in ownership over the years. GlenDronach is currently owned by Brown-Forman, an American spirits company who also own BenRiach and Glenglassaugh.
Vic says: “A heavily sherried whisky, very bold and very rich. It's got a great fan base, folk love their GlenDronach. It’s so sought after, a lot of it is sold on allocation, it's a bit like try to get hold of a Springbank!”
Production Style & Core Range
GlenDronach whiskies are known for their rich, full-bodied character with a strong sherry influence. The spirit is typically matured in a combination of Spanish oak casks, including Pedro Ximenez and Oloroso sherry casks. The core range includes expressions such as GlenDronach 12 Year Old, GlenDronach 18 Year Old and the GlenDronach 21 Year Old Parliament, each offering a different perspective on the distillery's character and maturation.
Visitor Centre
GlenDronach Distillery has a visitor centre that welcomes whisky enthusiasts. Visitors can take guided tours to learn about the whisky-making process, explore the historic distillery buildings and enjoy tastings of GlenDronach whiskies while learning about the brand's heritage.

I was there last week! Fantastic distillery – still using their original malt mill!
