Production Style & Peat Level
Bowmore whiskies are known for their complex and balanced flavour profiles. The distillery uses traditional copper pot stills for distillation and sources peat locally to impart a characteristic smokiness to its whiskies. While Bowmore whiskies are peated, they are often considered to have a more moderate peat influence compared to some other Islay distilleries. The peat character is balanced by sweet, fruity, and maritime elements.
