Benromach
Benromach Distillery is a Scottish single malt whisky distillery situated in the town of Forres, in the heart of the Speyside region.
History
Founded in 1898 by Duncan McCallum, a former maltster at Glen Nevis Distillery, and FW Brickman, a spirits merchant. The distillery operated successfully for several decades before facing financial difficulties and periods of closure. Benromach changed hands multiple times throughout its history. It was acquired by DCL (Distillers Company Limited) in 1953 and subsequently operated under various owners, including United Distillers and Gordon & MacPhail. In 1993, Gordon & MacPhail acquired full ownership of Benromach and undertook extensive renovations to revive the distillery.
House Style & Core Range
Benromach whiskies are known for their classic Speyside character with a subtle smokiness. The distillery uses lightly peated barley for its whisky production, resulting in a delicate hint of smoke in the final product. Benromach offers a core range of expressions that showcase the distillery's style and craftsmanship. This includes expressions such as Benromach 10 Year Old, Benromach 15 Year Old, and Benromach Peat Smoke, each offering a unique interpretation of Speyside whisky with varying levels of smokiness.

Benromach Distillery has a visitor centre that welcomes whisky enthusiasts. Visitors can take guided tours to learn about the traditional whisky-making process, explore the historic distillery buildings and enjoy tastings of Benromach whiskies while learning about the brand's heritage.
