Whisky Myths: Single malt is best, right?

Not necessarily. Single malt Scotch is simply one of five categories defined by the Scotch Whisky Regulations. No category is superior to another. As to which style you prefer – or enjoy the most – is entirely a matter of personal choice. The idea, for example, that “blended whisky = bad whisky” is a nonsense and in believing that myth, you’ll miss out on some great products. This perception often stems from price alone.

Whisky can so often seem wrapped up in rules. Sure, there are the regulatory ones (legit) but what about the rest? Who makes these rules, and should you feel bad for breaking them? We’re here to bust the myths and separate the simple mistakes from the marketing speak.
