Same online Scotch whisky course, new name

Based on candidate feedback, we have changed the name of our SQA-certified online whisky course to the “Certificate in Scotch Whisky”.

Previously known as the “Introduction to Whisky Certificate”, this innovative course explores the fascinating world of Scotch over eight modules. While we called it an introduction, it is by no means an easy course. Moreover, the certificate serves as a great foundation for candidates who wish to progress to our flagship Diploma in Single Malt Whisky (which is, excitingly, soon to be available online).

Certificate in Scotch Whisky
More than 700 candidates, from 60 countries have taken part in the online course to date and we’re incredibly proud of the overwhelmingly positive feedback:

“Amazing interactive graphics” Elaine Newton-Bruzza

“Fascinating” Susan Magen

“Ideal way to study” Felix Haslimeier

(Read more independent reviews from our candidates on Feefo.)

The new name, we hope, better reflects the level and breadth of the material. The flexible, self-paced format allows you to learn in your own time, wherever you are in the world. And, with quizzes at the end of each module, you can measure the knowledge you are gaining as you go.

Certificate in Irish Whiskey
Finally, we are delighted to announce that our Certificate in Irish Whiskey will be available next month. Written by Irish Whiskey experts Fionnán O’Connor and Matt Healy, the brand new eight-module course will cover the history and production process along with modern innovations and a sensory analysis. More details coming soon. Meanwhile, register your interest in the course here.
