Aberfeldy
Aberfeldy Distillery is situated in the picturesque countryside of Perthshire, in the southern part of the Highlands. The distillery is nestled in the foothills of the Grampian Mountains, surrounded by scenic landscapes and rolling hills. Its smooth and honeyed character attracts whisky enthusiasts seeking a flavourful and accessible dram.
Vic says: "I think it's a whisky for everybody. The 12 year old's lovely, mainly ex-bourbon but I think there's possibly a little bit sherry in there as well. It's a very rich Highland malt, unpeated, quite rich and has a good mouthfeel. Very fruity, very flavoursome and overall a lovely, bold highland whisky."
History
Aberfeldy Distillery was founded in 1896 by the Dewar family, renowned whisky blenders and founders of Dewar's Scotch Whisky. The distillery was established to provide a consistent supply of malt whisky for the Dewar's blends, including their flagship Dewar's White Label. Aberfeldy is currently owned by John Dewar & Sons Ltd, a subsidiary of Bacardi Limited. The distillery remains closely associated with the Dewar family and continues to be an important component in the production of Dewar's blended Scotch whisky.
